LUDMILLA arrived at the shelter with her 3 puppies. Her owner had died and „naturally” the next of kin had no wish to take care of the dog family. Unfortunately, one of the pups was very weak and hasn’t survived with the facilities available here at the dog shelter. However, the family hasn’t lessened in size because a week later another pup from the same area, similarly aged and with very similar looks, came to us. We think he may be another sibling of the 3 original pups, only for some reason he hadn’t been found for the first time with the family.
The mummy was nicely nurturing her little ones who at that point were not very much in need of that kind of motherly care, but they were very grateful for being able to cuddle together with her. After some time, though, they became a bit of a nuisance to LUDMILLA and she was just constantly spying her time to spot the first opportunity to get out from her dog pen in which she succeeded many times, so in the end we separated her from her pups.
That’s when we realised that she didn’t cope well with confinement. She made this known to us with constant howling and again, binding her time to sneak out. Finally, she succeeded in reaching her goal, so now she is free, going where she wants to in a big yard and only stays confined for the night. She adores being held in your arms, loves a cuddle so now she’s happy.
She’s recommended to an owner who won’t leave her alone for several hours, lets her into the house and maybe even takes her to the workplace with herself/himself so that she’s not on her own.
It would be a good idea for her to have canine company as well as she’s got used to having friends around.
