ZSEBI BABA's mummy, Őzike, has had her fair share of hardship in life. Like the vast majority of dogs in Hungary, she was just „there” because a Hungarian garden is simply unimaginable without a dog. If there is no dog on the property, who will guard the house? Who will catch the rats? Naturally, the dog is best when he’s tethered, being outside no matter if it’s snowing or freezing and why bother going for a walk with him, he has a big yard, anyway, right? And to vaccinate him, huh, who has even heard of that? That would be a total waste of money! But a dog is a must, no house can exist without a dog. Unfortunately, this is the point of view of most people in Hungary – we take our hat off to anyone who is an exception to this rule.
As expected, Őzike wasn’t neutered, either, and as a result, on a lovely August day she gave birth to 6 wonderful puppies, one of them is ZSEBI BABA. She was raising and nurturing them as best as she was able to, but even this didn’t matter to the heartless owner. He had tethered Őzike and as good as left the whole canine family to their fate in the yard of the abandoned property and left for his home town in Romania. Local animal lovers fed the family every day, climbing over the fence and into the garden of the abandoned house. At last, thanks to the local city council and Kriszti, animal lovers brought Őzike and her only pup, ZSEBI BABA, to our shelter. Zsebi baba’s siblings had been given to so-called good places by that time.
ZSEBI BABA’s eyes reflect constant despair. She hides from strangers int he deepest corner of her wooden dog kennel. When she comes out, however, she loves being held and stroked and only needs a little time to ease up and to start learning to walk on the lead.
As the arrival of a puppy into the family means not only huge excitement, but also big responsibility, she is looking for such an owner who has a lot of time and a lot of energy to spare on her, who will take her to training classes and will teach her everything that a smart little, well-socialised family member will ever need and who will, of course, be able to afford the following 10-15 years while she will be member of the family. She can only be adopted with neutering obligation and strict follow-up control by a responsible owner so that she will never again have to return to the shelter.
She's relocated to Germany. 29.01.2021
