Pequeño adatlapja

Ismét a kegyetlen magyar valóság szemtanúi lehettünk. Szomorú és végtelenül elkeserítő, hogy az utcán élő, tanyák körül vegetáló, chipnélküli, oltatlan, ráadásul VEMHES kutyusok országa vagyunk.

A mezőőr kérte segítségünket egy bekerítetlen tanyán élő kisebb kutyakolónia befogásával kapcsolatban. Pár nappal előtte került kórházba az idős gazda és azóta valószínűleg senki nem etette ezeket a kutyusokat.

Kollégánk kiment a portára, ahol a beharangozott 3 kutyus helyett rögtön 4 fogadta. Persze, mind tisztes távolból ugatott rá, közel egyik sem mert jönni és közeledésre el is tűntek a tanyát övező ősdzsungelben. Egy megoldás maradt: ki kellett tenni a csapdát.

A 4 kutyusból végül kettőt, Pitty-t és Patty-t, sikerült a csapdával befogni. Joggal gondoltuk, juhé, ezt a csatát már félig megnyertük hisz ők ketten biztonságban vannak, még akkor is, ha a happy end csak akkor jön el, ha a másik 2 kutyust is sikerül majd befogni. Legalábbis ezt gondoltuk aznap  reggel. Jóval később aznap fedeztük csak fel a csukott szemű újszülöttet a kennelben, aki nyilván a mamit, azaz Patty-t, ért stressz miatt született meg. Nem tudjuk, hogy ez az egy szem picike életben tud-e maradni, de legalább itt sokkal nagyobb esélye van rá mintha egy bokortanyában született volna meg. Ő a PEQUEÑO nevet kapta. 

Patty nagyon jó mamija PEQUEÑO-nak. Jó ideig a menhelyen egy szűk konténerben nevelgette, de nagyon nagy szerencséje volt hisz egyik önkéntesünk, Timi, beleszeretett a cuki kis párosba, így mindketten hozzáköltözhettek a végleges gazdi elérkezéséig.

Timi sosem unatkozik mióta Patty és PEQUEÑO beköltöztek hozzá. Természetesen PEQUEÑO egy igazi minden lében kanál kölyökkutya. Aktív kutyus, aki sokat mozog és játszik. Mindenhová követi az embert és minden rághatót  megrág. Játékos, kíváncsi, okos és tanulékony. Jutalomfalattal könnyen motiválható.
FRISSÍTÉS 2022.01.01.
PEQUEÑO egy ideje már újra a menhelyen él. Mivel egyedüli kölyökként született a menhelyen, embert is alig látott, ráadásul mamija sem volt mindig a legkedvesebb hozzá, majd ideiglenes otthonában is mamijával élt és csak Timivel ismerkedett meg közelebbről, PEQUEÑO még mindig félős és időre lesz szüksége új otthonában.
Fajtársaival barátságos. A macskateszt során ( ami egy cicákkal teli, apró szobában zajlik), azt tapasztaltuk, hogy nem volt érdeklődő a macskák iránt. Mivel mindkét fél megilletődött állapotban volt, így nem feltétlen garantált, hogy máskor, más környezetben teljesen cicabarát lesz. 
2021.12.21-én elvégzett szívféregtesztjének eredménye: negatív.

Mivel egy kölyökkutya érkezése a családba nem csak óriási izgalommal, de hatalmas felelősséggel is jár, csakis és kizárólag olyan gazdinak adjuk örökbe, akinek sok ideje, sok energiája van egy kölyökkutyával való foglalkozásra, aki kutyaiskolába fogja vinni és meg fogja tanítani  mindarra, amire egy okos, jól szocializált családtagnak szüksége van, és aki persze anyagilag is győzni fogja az elkövetkezendő 10-15 évet amíg PEQUEÑO  a család tagja lesz. Ivartalanítási kötelezettséggel adjuk örökbe  szigorú ellenőrzés mellett felelős gazdinak hogy már soha többé ne kelljen visszakerülnie a menhelyre.

We had to witness the cruel Hungarian reality once again. It is sad and indescribebly disheartening to realise that Hungary is the land of chipless, unvaccinated and moreover, PREGNANT  stray dogs living in the street and around the countryside farms.

The local ranger asked for our help to help him catch a smaller dog colony living on a farm with no fence around. A few days earlier the elderly owner of the dogs had been admitted to hospital and according to hearsay no one had fed the dogs since then.

Our colleague appeared on the property and found 4 dogs instead of the 3 having been reported to him. Of course, all were barking at him from a long distance – none of them dared to come close and as he approached they promptly disappeared in the „jungle” surrounding the farm. There was one solution left: he had to set up the trap.

Out of the 4 dogs he managed to trap 2 in the end. They were Pitty and PATTY. We were rightly pleased with ourselves as we certainly half-won this fight having placed the 2 dogs in safety even though we knew that the happy end would only come when the other 2 dogs could be caught as well.

At least this is what we thought that morning. Only much later did we discover the newborn pup with his eyes still tightly closed in the kennel who was obviously the result of the huge stress that the mummy, PATTY, suffered. We do not know whether this one pup could survive or not, but the odds are certainly more in his favour here than what they would have been, had he been born under a bush in the wilderness. He was named Pequeño.
Patty’s been a very good mummy for Pequeño. She was nurturing him for a long time inside a small container at the shelter, but they got lucky as one of our volunteers fell in love with the cute pair and they were able to move in with her until their forever owner comes for them

 Timi has never been bored since Patty and PEQUEÑO moved in with her. Naturally, PEQUEÑO is a real little busybody, a typical puppy. He’s an active little dog who enjoys exercise and playing. He follows Timi everywhere she goes and she also chews on everything he can find. He’s playful, curious, smart and amenable to traininig. He’s easily motivated by some treats.

UPDATE 01.01.2022 PEQUEÑO has been living in the shelter for quite some time again. As he was born as an only puppy at the shelter, he didn't meet people and his mummy didn't always have the kindest disposition towards him, and because even in his foster home he was living with his mummy and only really got to know Timi well, PEQUEÑO is still shy and he will need time and patience in his new home to get used to people. 
With fellow dogs he’s friendly. During our impromptu cat test (that is conducted in a small room full of cats) he did not show any interest in the felines. However, because both parties were experiencing a new situation it is not fully guaranteed that he will be completely cat-friendly in other situations as well.  
His heartworm test result on 21st december 2021 came back negative. 

As the arrival of a puppy into the family means not only huge excitement, but also big responsibility, he is looking for such an owner who has a lot of time and a lot of energy to spare on him, who will take him to training classes and will teach him everything that a smart little, well-socialised family member will ever need and who will, of course, be able to afford the following 10-15 years while he will be member of the family. He can only be adopted with neutering obligation and strict follow-up control by a responsible owner so that he will never again have to return to the shelter.
