Eva adatlapja

Egy februári balesetes kutyusunk, akit egy főúton szedtünk össze miután valaki elgázolta és cserbenhagyta. Kollégánk ott talált rá, mozdulatlanul, az út közepén.  Chipes volt, így megtudtuk, hogy Eva-nak hívják. Gazdis is volt. Egészen addig, amíg értesítettük a gazdát, hogy hol és hogyan találtak rá állatbarátok a fájdalomtól sírdogáló Evára és hogy most éppen az állatorvosi rendelőben részesítik elsősegélyben bal oldali csípőlapáttörés miatt. Onnantól Eva már nem volt többé gazdis. Nem kell, mondták, „mert szökik”. Ekkor nemcsak az ő szíve tört össze, hanem a miénk is. Nem értettük, hogy mondhat le valaki az éppen cserbenhagyásos balesetből kimentett, őrült fájdalomtól szűkölő kutyusáról. Hogy lehet az, hogy nem maradt űr a szívében valaki miatt, aki pedig csak őt szerette?

Szombaton köztudottan nem egyszerű állatorvost találni ezen a vidéken (vasárnap lehetetlen), de Eva-nak szerencséje volt mert dr. Sprőber Zoltán rendelője még éppen nyitva tartott és meg tudta vizsgálni. Melegítőpárnán, fűtött konténerben, sok-sok pléden szállásoltuk el. Akkor még nem tudtuk, hogy sikerül-e megmenteni. Csak reménykedni tudtunk és megtenni, amit csak lehet. Figyelnünk kellett, hogy eszik-e, iszik-e, infúziózni kellett, lesni, hogy lesz-e végre széklet, vizelet – mert ettől függött a hétfői döntés az állatorvosnál. Eva-nak ismét szerencséje volt: Február 14-én megtörtént a műtét. Szépen gyógyult, de egy hónap múlva újabb probléma lépett fel. A tüdejében és a mellkasüregben is folyadék halmozódott fel. Először háromféle gyógyszert írtak fel neki, amit naponta 3-szor kellett bevennie. Aztán már négyfélét, ötfélét, végül nyolcfélét kellett szednie. Nagyon nem akarta. Le kellett nyomni a torkán. És egyre csak fogyott. Infúzióra került. Kontrasztanyagos röntgen, majd szívultrahang következett. Dr. Sebő Ottó rekeszizomsérvet állapított meg nála és azonnal meg is műtötte. Az utolsó utáni pillanatban. És Eva ezt is túlélte. Már nem szed nyolcféle gyógyszert. Eva most fizioterápiára jár. Kutyasín is készül számára, amely a műtött lábának helyes pozicionálására fog szolgálni mozgáskor, hogy ne húzza a földön a lábfejét. 

Hát, mindössze ennyi minden történt vele az elmúlt 3 hónapban. Mondhatnánk, hogy sok nehézségen kellett keresztülmennie. Ennek ellenére még mindig hálás minden figyelemért, minden jó szóért. Végtelenül jóindulatú, pusziosztó, még fiatal kutyalány, aki több más fajtársával él együtt a menhely irodájában és annak udvarán. Minden más kutyával jó a kapcsolata, az embert pedig rajongásig szereti. Továbbra sem értjük, fel nem foghatjuk, hogyan tudott valaki lemondani erről a csupa szív, szeretetteljes kis lényről!?

Tudjátok, hogy mozgáskorlátozottként nem könnyű élni ezen a világon és bizony néha segítségre szorul az ember, így a kutya is. Ezért olyan gazdit keresünk Eva-nak, aki fel van készülve az állapota miatti esetleges nehézségekre, aki folytatná vele a fizioterápiát és aki pont úgy tudná szeretni, ahogy van.

A cicák irént élénk érdeklődést mutatott cictesztünk során, ezért cicás családba nem ajánljuk.

She was the victim of a hit and run accident on a main road in February. Our colleague found her lying motionless in the middle of the road. She was chipped, so we found out she was named Eva. She had an owner too. Up until the moment we notified him about where and how she had been found. How she was whining from pain and how she was just now receiving first aid at the vet’s due to a pelvic fracture. The iliac crest was broken ont he left hand side. From then on Eva no longer had an owner. We don’t want her, they said, „she keeps escaping”. At that moment not only her heart was broken, but ours too. We could not understand how someone could give up on his dog who had just been rescued from a hit and run accident and was whining from severe pain. How can it be that there was no emptiness in the owner’s heart, that he was now missing someone who have just been loving him and no one else?

It is known to be a challenge to find a veterinarian in this region on a Saturday. (On Sunday it is impossible), but Eva was in luck. Dr. Zoltán Sprőber’s surgery was still open and he examined her. We placed her inside a heated room on top of lots of blankets and a heating pad. At that time we did not know whether her life could be saved or not. We could only hope and do our best. We had to administer fluids intravenously and wait whether or not she would start eating, drinking and defecating. This is what the decision depended on whether or not she could be operated at all. Eva was in luck again: her surgery happened on 14th February. She was recovering nicely, but a month later another problem occured. Her lungs and the chest cavity filled up with fluid. First of all, she was prescribed 3 kinds of medication that she had to take 3 times a day. Then she was taking 4 kinds of medication, then 5 kinds and in the end 8 kinds of medication! She was adamant not to take them. It was a struggle to make her swallow them. And she kept losing weight. Intravenous fluids started again. Contrast radiography, the a heart ultrasound followed. Dr. Ottó Sebő diagnosed her with diaphragmatic hernia (a hole in the diaphragm) and operated her immediately, with no delay. At the last moment. And Eva’s survived even this. Now she does not take 8 different kinds of pills. Right now she’s undergoing physiotherapy. A splint is being made for her to help keep the operated le, especially the foot, in the right position and to help her move around without dragging her foot on the ground.

Well, that’s all that’s happened to her within the past 3 months. You could say that she’s really had her fair share of hardships. Yet she is still grateful for every little bit of attention and every single kind word spoken to her. She’s infinitely well-meaning, happily shares out kisses, still young and she lives together with several other dogs in the office and in the yard that belongs to it. She enjoys a good relationship with other dogs and she loves people to the point of adoration. And we still don’t understand, cannot fathom, how could someone give up on this extremely affectionate, all-heart little creature!?

You know that life is not easy for the handicapped. They need help sometimes. And so do handicapped dogs. For this reason, Eva is looking for an owner who is prepared to cope with the possible hardships due to her operated hip, who would be ready to continue with the physiotherapy and who would be able to love her the way she is.
She showed great interest in the cats during our cat test, so we do not recommend her to families with a feline member.
