The year 2020 had a very bad start. We kept being swamped with dogs that actually had an owner. They didn’t come one by one, not in pairs, but in hoardes of 9 and 16 from each irresponsible owner. There was a pack of dogs who had to be ceased by the authorities, there was another pack that was crammed into all our 4 emergency cages at the same time in one evening, in the darkness, and there was a pack that we had to bring in as they had got too many.
This last pack of dogs had 9 members. They were of all ages: babies puppies, youngsters and adults. Who is related to who in the pack is a mystery , but they do look a lot like each other. The names are: Mini, Freya, Frida, Karla, Trudi, INGE, Verena, Udo and Jürgen.
One of them is INGE. Out of the 9 dogs she’s the oldest one with her 4 years, but during the past 4 years she couldn’t have received much love at all because she’s still afraid. She does not know the stroking hand or the kind words.
She’s an infinitely beautiful dog, but she keeps her distance. She does not walk on the lead, this type of exercise is still unknown to her. She had to be carried in our arms to the fields, but even this filled her with anxiety. She looked so sorrowful during the photo shoot that was heartbreaking to watch. She has to overcome her fears, but we are working on it and hope to rebuild her trust.
She's relocated to Germany. 24.04.2020
