BONI was waiting for her rescuer in the stairwell of a block of flats, but sadly this rescue only meant for her to be admitted to the shelter instead of being adopted by a family.
She’s of a very shy and reserved nature and would probably prefer to become invisible. She’s not at all aggressive, though. We can easily touch her, handle her and even move her without her trying to scratch as some other cats would do in her place. She would only need a calm and peaceful household where she, after a certain period of trying to hide, would definitely get acclimatised to the new environment and her forever owner.
We wish it would be that simple! But unfortunately, her FELV test came back with a positive result which her future family should be aware of. She can still live many happy years if her immune system is continuously boosted as she’s still a young cat. She can be adopted by a family where there is already a FELV positive cat or she could also be an only cat. This disease (feline leukemia virus) cannot be transmitted to people or other animals, buti t can be transmitted to other cats.
She’s vaccinated against basic cat diseases, castrated and housebroken.
She’s waiting for a caring and responsible owner who would look after her as long as she lives and hopefully it is for many, many years yet to come.
UPDATE November 2023: She lives at our foster lady, Reni, now.
