The ill-looking cat had to be rescued from the rooftop. As it turned out, he lived in the neighbouring house, but as it usually is the case, his owner didn’t have any interest in the fact that his cat needed veterinary care. The cat had more sense than his owner as if he had known that if he climbed over the rooftop of an animal lover’s house she would make sure that he’d get into good hands.
His cat flu was treated and we tested him for FIV and FELV. Unfortunately, both tests came back with positive results.
Sadly, this means that ENDRE has been given a prison sentence. Even though he has been vaccinated against the usual cat diseases, he is not allowed to mix with healthy cats. He can only live with other FIV/FELV positive cats and this means very little freedom for him int he shelter circumstances as he must live in a small container. It can’t be that this is his final home. He’s waiting for someone, a family, who would offer him a home. He can live with other FIV/FELV positive cats or as an only cat.
He didn’t enjoy the veterinary treatment, he was trying to scratch quite vehemently, but when he does not feel threatened, he can be stroked. He is not advised to live with a family with small children.
