The then very shy little bitch was being fed and slowly befriended by the carers at an old folks' home for 2-3 weeks, but sadly, some of the relatives of the old people did not tolerate that there was a dog in the home so she needed to be removed. The carers who had been looking after her were in tears when we picked her up. A huge word of thanks goes to them for the caring.
At the beginning she was very timid and shy at the shelter. If we entered her dog pen she withdrew into her kennel. You could tell that she would love to put her head onto your lap, but at the time her fear was still stronger than this wish.
As time passed, she gained more and more confidence and gradually she's overcome her fear and now there's no problem with her. She feels safe at the shelter and she's friendly with her dog companions.
It is possible that in a new environment, with people still unknown to her, she'll take her time to open up, though. However, she's made great progress, so it'll be much easier now.
Unfortunately, she's a climber, therefore, she's in need of a home where the fence is 100% secure and she can't escape.
