We received a phone call about an old, emaciated dog lying in the ditch in Street Széna, so we drove there and collected him straightaway. Of course, he had no microchip.
He's emaciated, weak and rickety beyond all belief, as old as the road, blind in one eye, but luckily he's eating like a horse.
He will be looking for a loving home once he's got his strength back, although we are not hopeful there will be a hoard of future owners queuing up for him, so we've promised him we'd look after him as long as he lives and would never abandon him.
“There may not be one more orphaned than an abandoned dog, his heart is empty, his soul is homeless.
All purposes of his life have ended – the unhappy one has lost all his beliefs.
There is no one for him to love, no one for him to cheer up, no one for him to look to for a loving word or food.
He's left staring blindly into the world because the best part of his life has ended."
